Welcoming the Latest and Upcoming Smartphones of 2022 in India
We’re almost past three weeks since 2022 began, and we are all set for the onset of another tech era as companies have started launching smartphones right away.
We can hear keyboard warriors typing out the comment, “You can’t write about all of the phones! You’re not wizards!”
And yes, you are right indeed. We’re not wizards, but what we are is tech-lovers because after all, we’re Gadgetshieldz, India’s leading premium mobile skins and screen protectors brand! It is humanly impossible to write about every phone that comes into existence this year. But we would love you to know a little more about some of the great smartphones that we’ve all been looking forward to so eagerly!
Here we go!
Google Pixel 6
As mentioned in one of the previous articles, Google Pixel 6 is now available on Amazon India’s site. But there’s a catch: It is not officially launched in India. Amazon is getting it shipped from the US, making it utterly expensive at a price rate of about ₹67k when it is only for $599 (approx. ₹45k)! However, Google Pixel 6 has got some really cool features listed as below: –
- Equipped with a Google Tensor-Titan M2 Chip security core for faster performance and better security.
- It has a Tactile Alloy Frame with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus cover glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 back ensuring durability and rigidity.
- 8 GB RAM + 128/256 GB ROM
- 6.4″ FHD+ Screen Display with 90 Hz refresh rate
- Rear Camera- 50 MP+ 12 MP Resolution camera with LDAF sensor, OIS, Ultra-wide Angle 82˚ & 114˚ Photography, Spectral and flicker sensor, fast camera launcher, Pixel Shift, video recording in 4k at 30/60 fps & 1080p at 30/60 fps. Other video modes such as Slo-mo video in 240 FPS, 4K timelapse with stabilisation, Astrophotography timelapse, Fused video stabilisation, 4K Cinematic, Pan video stabilisation, 4K locked video stabilisation, 1080p active video stabilisation and Digital zoom up to 7x.
- Front Camera- 8 MP camera with fixed focus and 84˚ field of view.
- Battery & charging- 4600 mAh battery life, supports fast charging with Google 30 W USB-C charger, supports wireless charging and reverse charging.
This device is the best device by Google to date and so far, there have been almost little to negligible bad reviews on it. The only catch is that this phone is only available on Amazon right now and you’ll be paying 20-25k extra than the actual price for an imported model. And since it’s not yet launched in India, you won’t get any warranty or free services.
Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge
This phone was very recently launched for a price of ₹26,999. Let’s have a look at some of the cool features this phone is providing: –
- MediatekDimensity 920 5G Chip, ensuring a high speed 5G connectivity, smooth gaming and haptics.
- It has a glass body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and an AG-Matte Finish for an anti-glare effect.
- 6/8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM
- 6.67″ AMOLED Display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate
- Rear Camera- 108 MP Main Camera+ 8 MP Ultra Wide Lens + 2 MP Macro Lens Camera with photographic features such as AI Beauty and Watermark, Face Recognition, Timed continuous shooting, long exposure, night scene mode, document mode, dynamic photo and video graphics features like Slow-mo, Professional video, Vlogging video, time-lapse photography in 4k at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60 fps, 720p at 30 fps, slow-mo in 1080p at 120 fps and 720p at 120/240/960fps.
- Front Camera- 16 MP resolution with screen flash and features such as AI Beauty and Watermark, Timed Continuous Shooting, Night Scenery Mode, Dynamic Photo, Slow Motion Photography, Face Recognition and Movie Mode.
- Battery & charging- Dual-cell 4500 mAh Battery with a Turbocharge Charger of 120W, letting you charge your phone from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes.
This phone is an absolute beauty and a catch as it’s one of the very few mid-range smartphones having features of a premium flagship phone like 120 Hz display and 108 MP Camera. The top-notch spec is the 120W Turbocharge, as it has got zero competitors in the Indian smartphones market with such a charging capacity. For a phone below 30k, everybody might not expect features like the ones mentioned above but, who wouldn’t want the same for half the price?!
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G
The last time Samsung released their Fan Edition Samsung Galaxy phone was in 2020, and now it’s back again! Newly launched in Indian markets starting from ₹54999, this phone has everything a typical Fan Edition Samsung Galaxy phone has. Let’s have a glimpse at some of its specs: –
- Equipped with Exynos 2100 chipset, the fastest and most reliable chipset by Samsung and One UI 4.0 (Samsung’s latest Android 12 skin)
- It has a plastic casing on the back and an aluminium frame. The screen glass is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, making the phone rigid and durable.
- 6/8 GB RAM+ 128/256 GB ROM
- 6.4″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and HDR10+ support.
- Rear Camera- 12MP Ultra Wide Camera + 12MP Wide-angle Camera + 8MP Telephoto Camera with features such as Auto Focus, OIS, LED flash, auto-HDR, panorama and video recording in 4k at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60fps, slow-motion recording in 720p at 960fps and 1080p at 240fps.
- Front Camera- 32 MP resolution with HDR, video recording in 4k at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60fps.
- Battery & charging- 4500 mAh battery, compatible for super-fast charging with 25 W charger, supports wireless charging and reverse charging.
The last Fan Edition of Samsung Galaxy was a big hit amongst people and the same is expected for this phone as well because nonetheless, the core features are still pretty much similar and most of them are upgraded. Specs-wise, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is pretty decent, but the factor which plants a question is the price point.
Vivo V23 Pro 5G
Vivo has recently launched India’s first colour changing smartphone, Vivo V23 Pro starting from a price of ₹38,990. Other than this uber-cool spec, this phone has all the features you’d find in a standard, value flagship device. Let’s go through some features as follows: –
- The Stellar Features: The Fluorite AG Glass Back enables the colour changing mode under natural lighting. However, the only catch is that it is only available in the Sunshine Gold shade. Another stellar feature of this phone is its super-slim 3D curved display of 7.36 mm, making it India’s slimmest phone with a 3D Curved Display.
- It is equipped with MediaTekDimensity 1200 chipset and Funtouch OS 12 (Android 12 skin), perfect for a smooth gaming experience and faster performance.
- 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM / 12GB RAM + 256 GB ROM
- 6.56″ Screen size with FHD+ resolution AMOLED display with 90 Hz refresh rate.
- Rear Camera- 108MP AF + 8MP wide-angle + 2MP macro resolution with modes such as Eye Autofocus, Night, Ultra-Wide Night, Super Macro, Bokeh Portrait, Portrait Style, Bokeh Flare Portrait, High Resolution, Live Photo, AR Stickers, Slo-Mo, Time-Lapse, Dual-View Video, Double Exposure, Documents, Pano, Pro, Ultra Stabilization, Super Night Video and Sports Mode.
- Front Camera- 50MP AF + 8MP wide-angle resolution with modes such as Autofocus, AI Extreme Night, Steadiface Selfie Video, Multi-Style Portrait, Double Exposure, Video Face Beauty, Dual-View Video, Slo-Mo, High Resolution, Live Photo, AR Stickers, Natural Portrait and Sports Mode Selfie.
- Battery & charging- 4300 mAh battery; 44W fast charging enabled.
In conclusion, this phone has pretty decent specs for the mentioned price point. Not to forget, this phone is very shutterbug-oriented as it has got some really great photographic and video modes. In fact, a lot of tech reviewers approve it too.
OnePlus 9RT 5G
Launched on 14th of January this year for a price starting from ₹42,999, the OnePlus 9RT 5G is about to be the debut device alongside the OnePlus Buds Z2 for OnePlus in 2022. Let’s have a further look at some of the features of this device listed as follows: –

- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, 8 GB/12 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM
- 6.6″ screen size with FHD+ resolution AMOLED Display with 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.
